Leisure time and nature
The village of Schmidt is situated in a marvellous landscape of the Nordeifel (the northern region of the Eifel). It is located on top of a hill above the lake Rursee. The variety of leisure-time activities guarantee eventful holidays for our guests. This climatic health resort is the setting-off point for many possible walking tours, f. ex. down into the valleys of the rivers Rur and Kall.
The Rursee is the second largest storage lake in Germany. It is a 15 minutes’ walk to this lake which offers a lot of recreational facilities for our guests, such as fishing, swimming, and hiking. You can also hire boats or go on a trip across the whole lake to Woffelsbach or Rurberg by the Rursee steamer. Or you go to Heimbach to visit the power station which is built in a beautiful style of Art Nouveau.
If you prefer to relax, you can sunbathe at the beach Sonnenstrand Eschauel, or you simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
